Like he would dunk a lot, but never wasting energy, two hand slam, just get it done, and be ready for the next play. No showboating, good team basketball; get the win!
Now i know these are different times, and i sure like it when Celtics dunk.
Yet 13 championships in 15 years, counted College! Bill Russell did it best!pedrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13363993946190554123noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-159003855959232638.post-14397349918918487072017-08-03T17:33:21.102-04:002017-08-03T17:33:21.102-04:00Yes, Pedro. Two giants going at it; with
Russ usually getting the better of it; the victory!
Russ never gloated, or talked bad about Wilt, they were friends away from the court.
As a player, my lesson from Bill Russell was let your play do the talking; don't ever talk about your play.pedrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13363993946190554123noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-159003855959232638.post-34836161691651844232017-07-31T17:22:12.961-04:002017-07-31T17:22:12.961-04:00Love that last statement. Maybe not in the 60's but back to the 80's. They played hard and there was no coddling back then. Players these days are allowed to be prima donnas.

And back then centers were centers and not "stretch players" and there were real battles in the paint. I guess maybe that's why I love Perk so much. He's a throw back to when the game was real and not so much manufactured. I think I feel some random thoughts coming on LOL.
