CELTS SIGN HENDERSON TO MULTIYEAR CONTRACT
BOSTON - Guard Gerald Henderson, who has earned two championship rings in five years with the Boston Celtics, signed a multiyear contract yesterday.
No details were announced, but some observers estimated that Henderson, who had become a free agent, signed for four years at $325,000 a season.
Henderson, 28, has averaged 8.8 points a game in five years with Boston, including 11.6 last season. His signing left forward Cedric Maxwell, also a free agent, as the only veteran missing from training camp.
