In a move that has been expected since the end of last season, the Celtics have released 34-year-old guard Nate (Tiny) Archibald. General manager Red Auerbach confirmed the action last night and said that the official announcement would come today. Auerbach said that the Celtics had made attempts to trade the 12-year veteran, although he would not mention any clubs that had shown interest in Archibald and his $300,000 contract.
