Magic Johnson had said the day before that it was likely time to “blow this team up,” and the colossal failure from the Lakers that followed Sunday to complete Dallas’ sweep had to leave the Jerry Buss’ organization shellshocked.
God bless, Magic.
Thank you for saying that, #32.
Today was something to relish for all of us in Beantown.
If we’re being honest with ourselves, game 4 is pretty scary. The Lakers are looking at being swept out of the playoffs in a series that they were unanimously predicted to advance past. Entering the playoffs they were one of a handful of teams that were thought to be legitimate contenders and were the betting favorites to win the championship. And now they’re 48 minutes from their season ending in the 2nd round.
There is a god.

This is bittersweet. On the one hand, I love seeing the lakers lose. Love it. However, I've become skeptical about reveling in their plight. Last time was when kobe demanded the trade. It was so bad the LA Times online had a "Kobe Watch" section. Then they're given Gasol and win two championships. My fear is that they'll get their butts in gear and come back better and younger next year and set to compete for another 10 years.
This is a very good point, Ryan.
But I'll take the reveling while I can.
:)
