ESPN reports that Doc Rivers was on a golf course with Danny Ainge, Kevin McHale, and Wolves coach Randy Whittman. Later in the day, when the trade was finalized, Doc called a friend to tell him about the trade.
Doc: We just got KG and didn't have to give up Paul Pierce or Ray Allen.
Friend: What's the catch?
Doc: There is no catch.
Friend: (silence)
Doc: Hello?
Friend: Get outta here!
