I want to be bought out and be reunited with KG.
No I don't.
Yes I do.
And so on.
Earlier in the Week Boston Globe reporter Marc J. Spears reported that Sam Cassell said he hoped to be bought out, had been saving up money to faciliate a buy-out, and would be a perfect fit in Beantown.
After Cassell denied saying much of this, Spears responded.
"I've really enjoyed covering Sam Cassell since I began as a beat reporter in the NBA in 1999, and I've always considered him fun and entertaining. But with all due respect to Sam, I stand by my story. I have the entire interview on tape and after talking to me on Wednesday morning, he was quoted saying similar things to other Boston media outlets prior to the game against the Celtics."
If you read between the lines, it's pretty easy to figure out what's going on here.
Cassell's main objection was that "It just isn't right for my teammates to hear I'd be a perfect fit in Boston."
Yeah, it would have been better had you kept that observation on the QT. Having blurted it out to the media, however, your choices were either own up to it or cover your ass.
