Detroit is Better than Boston

At times, I'm sure this blog sounds like a broken record.

I've even said to myself, you know, I should make a vow to ease up on Celtic doubters and naysayers.

But then I come across someone like this guy.

I can't figure out if he's some schmo or actually a guy paid to write a blog by Fox.

Either way, someone needs to donate a clue to his comment box.

It's hard to pick the column-winning prize for this piece, but I'm going with this one:

Detroit has the best overall starting 5 in the NBA, from Billups on down to Maxiell. And their bench is pretty solid as well, with McDyess....

I had to read this like three times to make sure my Haight-Ashbury days hadn't finally caught up with me.

Then I turned to ESPN to confirm I am still in control of my faculties.

Antonio McDyess has played 59 games and started...59 games.

Jason Maxiell?

He's played in 62 games and started six, with none of those six occurring recently.

The piece then goes on to discuss the play of the original Celtics bench, you know, Posey, House, Big Baby, Leon Powe, and Tony Allen.

Oh wait, I guess it doesn't mention them at all.

But it does discuss the two recent additions, Sam Cassell and PJ Brown.

Oh wait, I guess it doesn't mention them either.

So basically the guy is arguing that he is not sold on the Celtics, because, well, you know, they have to get past Cleveland and Detroit in the playoffs.

Heavens.

Everyone know this. In fact we've all known this since before the opening tip of the first game of the regular season.

Save your breath and save your energy.

Find something to write about where you can actually contribute insight.
