Bird and Magic Split-Screen Commercial: Is there Is or Is there Ain't?

I was driving to work this morning listening to "The Mark and Brian Show" on 95.5 KLOS as they were discussing the Laker/Celtic Finals with a former L.A. sportscaster Todd Donohoe. They had a few callers piped in and one of them related a story of how he ran into Johnson at Staples this weekend. Inquiring what Johnson was there for, the caller said that Johnson told him that he was there to film the "split screen" NBA commercial with Larry Bird to promote the NBA Finals.

People have been writing and talking about this almost more than the Finals themselves.

Is it real or is it a hoax, because if it's real (now doing my best Jack Nicholson from Witches of Eastwick--maybe there is something we can do about it, find a cure, invent a vaccine), can someone please get a bootleg copy and, you know, circulate it on the Internet?

:)

Nope, it's not a hoax. The commercial just aired at half-time of Game 1. It was money.
