Did the C's Almost Trade Ainge to Seattle Instead of Gerald Henderson?

A MATTER OF CONTRADICTION

K.C. Jones said Tuesday that the Celtics would have given Seattle Danny Ainge if the SuperSonics had wanted Ainge instead of Gerald Henderson. General manager Jan Volk contradicted Jones yesterday, saying, "I don't know what was in K.C.'s mind, but it was not in mine. We got calls on Danny all summer long, but never any on Henderson. It (trading Ainge) was never discussed. Obviously, whenever we get a call on anybody we listen, but I run it by Red (Auerbach), KC and Jimmy (Rodgers) so we have a community of thought on everything we do."
