Doc Rivers remembers what losing to the Los Angeles Lakers was like, and it wasn't pretty.
"Well, they inspired heartbreak for me, or at least that is the most politically correct word I can use in public.
"You respected them, but you disliked them because they felt they were better than you, and they let you know it. So that bugged you. And I think that aura of superiority bothered you more because you couldn't do anything about it"

I have always hated the Lakers for much of the same reasons. They are all flash and glitz and they do all act like they are better than you. The Celtics have always had a workmanlike team mentality and I have always loved that about them. That is what drew me to this team all those years ago. They were successful but never lost that workmanlike team attitude. The Lakers are all Hollywood and I dislike everything about that attitude and image.
