Wooden on Walton

Bill is the consummate team player. He is an outstanding individual player, too, but his passing and defensive instincts make everyone around him better. He accepts coaching better than anyone I've ever coached before, and made this team the most coachable team I've ever had. He practices harder than opponents play during games, and both his unselfishness and intensity are contagious.

--John Wooden describing Bill Walton after UCLA won it's 61st game in a row, breaking the record set by the University of San Francisco (and Bill Russell)
