I have to disagree with you the Rivalry is the greatest rivalry in all of sports. There has never been a real lull and it takes no breaks. I can't recall a greater sports memory than the Yankees losing Game 7 of the ALCS at home in '04.
I guess it depends on what you mean by lull.
I would define a lull as when one or both teams wasn't very good.
If that is the definition, then there have been prolonged lulls.
Of course, the Cs and the Ls have had plenty of lulls too!!!
Also, I was just being a geeky Celtics fan calling the Celtics-Lakers rivalry the best ever.
I do know it's my favorite...
I meant lull by times when the rivalry has cooled off and is no longer important.
Ah.
Oh well, I was just sort of kidding around.
You know, I can't really defer to another rivalry on a Keltics blog...
