During 14 of the first 16 quarters played, the Celtics outscored the Lakers by 53 points. The Lakers scored 41 meaningless points in the fourth quarter of Game 2 and 35 meaningless points in Game 4's first quarter.
The Lakers' regular season offensive rating was 113 points per 100 possessions. The league average was 107.5. The Lakers have exceeded the league average once during the Finals -- the 41-point fourth quarter outburst that came with Boston ahead by 21 in game 2.

I hate the Lakers as much as anyone, but I can't say that the 4th quarter points in game 2 were meaningless. Yeah, it turned out that they weren't enough, but it was a credible comeback.
