The Celtics downed Indian 103-98. The Celtics remained undefeated to start the season, playing every game without the injured Kevin McHale. A put-back lay-up by Mark Acres late in the fourth quarter put the Celtics ahead for good.

Acres has now played the entire fourth quarter of consecutive close games. "These quality minutes definitely give you confidence toward the next game," he said. "There's no doubt about that."
