KG Goes Home
April 9, 2007--The last time Kevin Garnett played a game in Minnesota
“We changed our players and we changed our culture. And when you do both, it usually turns out pretty good.” Doc Rivers' response when asked for a sound bite by a Minneapolis reporter.
Garnett, who missed last season's matchup due to injury, will step onto a floor against a team he is the Wolves all-time leader in points, rebounds, assists, blocked shots and anything else you can think of.
In his 12 seasons' here, he was named to the All-Star team ten times, the All-Defensive First Team six times, and he was an All-Star Game M.V.P and a regular season M.V.P.
Asked if the rest of the Celtics team might also sleep over at Garnett’s house, Rivers shrugged and said why not? “He’s not gonna sleep anyway.”
"I still do the deal," McHale said. "Like I said at the time, it was going to be a change, and there'll be some growing pains on the thing. But yeah, I couldn't be happier with Al and his progression and the fact that he's 23. That was the thing. You gained 10 years in age on the primary assets in the trade. So yeah, I like the deal."
