The Riot Act

Somebody read somebody the Riot Act.

Come on. Let's be honest here.

After every win last year, after the championship, and all summer long, what did we hear?

"We hold each other accountable." Besides Ubuntu, this was the universal theme.

Our record has never been bad this year. At the same time, there was room for critique, and that critique centered on two points:

1. Underwhelming bench play.
2. Underwhelming play at the point from the Destructive One.

Last time we took stock, the Green Team (what the bench was called in the 80s) had three straight effective games. In fact, I seem to recall the top three performers off the bench were shooting 67% from the field in those three games. Well, if you look below, the bench shot 15-23 against Toronto.

Jaw-dropping to say the least.

On to the Destructive One.

It wasn't that long ago that many of us were getting a little antsy about the quality of Rondo's play. Heck, Rondo himself was a little worried. Rondo began to allay those concerns over the last week.

After this afternoon's game, I only have one question:

Is Rajon Rondo the most destructive Celtic guard since Dennis Johnson?

Which brings us back to my original theme for this post:

So what happened between then and now?

Did Doc or KG have a little chat with Rajon and the bench?

Ray Allen perhaps?

Or were Rajon and the bench all just professional enough to turn it around on their own?

I'm gonna take the easy way out and guess it was a combination of factors.

Looks like I omitted Pruitt's 0-3 outing from my analysis.

Rondo is amazing when he is aggressive like he has been the past 3 games. I agree that he is the most destructive Celtics PG since DJ.

This was a 100% team win. Just beautiful to watch!!

It's Ubuntu not "Unbuntu".

Thanks, Anon.

My bad.

I'll look for other bad spellings.
