Shades of 1987?

The first sign of a team in decline is the inability to win on the road. We saw this in 1987.

It's only one loss.

But a disheartening one to be sure.

Hopefully it's just a one game thing and the C's do not go on to struggle on the road. I was watching the Lakers opener and an announcer said Phil Jackson viewed winning home-court advantage as extremely important for his team this season to winning the title.

It's very tough to stay "up" for every game over two straight years.

The Lakers did it in 87 and got through all of February the next year before the wheels started coming off.

They dragged arse through 3 seven game series before beating detroit in the finals, after detroit had them down 3-2.

Doc won't have the Cs run themselves into the ground this year. They'll lose more, but they'll also have more gas in the tank come may and Danny will get to see more from the bench, a key to making the r ight trades...
