Fashion Faux Pas
Most Sox fans and New England residents are generally familiar with the new alternate cap design because it has been available in stores for years. Hard core traditionalists (of which I am not one) have been critical of fans who have chosen to wear caps sporting the red-socks logo, arguing that we aren't true fans. The criticism never bothered me much. I just liked red socks better than the red 'B.'
But now that fashion has been incorporated into the official uniform, I suppose they'll have less to criticize. So let me offer my own criticism:
When I first saw the proposed "official" design (above left), it looked different than the one in my closet (above right). Now that the it has been unveiled, we can confirm that there is a difference. The official design is not only flatter than the one than I have in the closet, the logo appears less detailed as well. I might even call it more cartoonish.
Splitting hairs, I suppose, for a product that is designed to cover your hairs...
