Fool Me Twice, or is it Three Times...

No one wants to look like an ass, especially those who hawk their opinions for a living. Yet the Los Angeles Lakers made the national media look very foolish last summer. Not having learned their lesson, NBA pundits again jumped on board the Lakers bandwagon this fall. Following a loss at home to the below .500 Indiana Pacers and a loss on the road to a Sacramento Kings team that hadn't won at home in over a month, the Lakers are threatening to make these pundits three-time losers.

Hence, the closer we inch toward the Celtics-Lakers tilt on Christmas Day, the more closely I will be listening to the punditry's predictions.

i'm really puzzled: is ok that LA newspapers root for fakers, but the national media? how can they think that fakers have more talent? even a position by position matchup (that dont say nothing about team game, and actually basketball IS a team game) is unfair: KG-Gasol? Rondo-Fisher? even if u wanna give an advatage on Kobe over PP (i dont, but i'm a Celtics fan so maybe i'm wrong) who will match with Ray? And till now all the big in the league had an hard time with Perk... and the big crybaby from LAL isnt in that elite.

give me a break! a bunch of talented egoists just good for the highlights... Cavs in the east and healthy Spurs in the west r the real big obstacle for the repeat.

Hey 1111,

Here is another thought.

Maybe the media types are catching on this time. But because they believe the fakers have a bigger national audience, the media plays to them.

who knows.

But I'll be curious to hear everyone's predictions!
