29, 9, & 4
Paul Pierce scored 29 points with four rebounds and nine assists last night. He also played 45 minutes. The extended minutes are unfortunate, but to be expected. As I said before the game, there was no way Doc was gonna sit this warrior for very long. In the end, I guess we should be OK with that. You want your top dog rising to the occasion when the circumstances dictate, and it doesn't get much bigger than a mano y mano with LeBron.

That was arguably one of the biggest games of the season. It was very important for home court advantage. I'm ok with Pierce playing 45 minutes. I would even be ok with him playing 45 minutes against the Magic. That is another important game and with KG out, the others have to step up. But, in a week KG will be back and the schedule gets easier and we have days off and Pierce will get his rest for the playoffs.
Pierce rose to occasion in a big way. Its amazing still how people think he is overrated. He got the better of the match-up. He definitely left James frustrated. How else to explain that needless back-pick on Rondo in the 4th?
Yeah, FCF, the KC Jones-Lary-Bird days are upon us. Us fans will have to suck it up too, and push aside our visceral reaction to running our favorite players into the ground.
Hey, was my site down for a while this morning? When I tried to view it, all I saw were the pics at the top, bottom, and side...
It was fine by the time I got here Lex!
I don't think Doc will run any of the 3 stars into the ground but I do think in big games like last night or against Orlando where so much is on the line, you have to suck it up and keep your best players on the court. Last night wasn't just any other game. HCA was on the line and the Celtics were at a disadvantage all the way around and so it was necessary to keep PP out there longer than anyone would like in a normal regular season game.
Ok, FCF. I'll chill then.
