I like a second unit that consists of Stephon Marbury, Mikki Moore, Eddie House, Glen Davis/Leon Powe and one starter (Pierce or Allen) much better than the make-shift, fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants combinations Doc was forced to use for the first four months of the season.
I like Big Baby and Leon Powe at the 4 much better than at the 5. Or, if you prefer, I like Powe and Davis much better at the 5 when there is a seven footer at the 4. I like the fact that the Zen Mistress now pronounces Leon's last name "Powe" instead of "Pow." I like the fact that the Mistress pretended to lack knowledge that the Celtics had earlier added Mikki Moore to the roster, and can be visibly seen struggling to get through this interview with monosyllabic responses to reporters' questions about the Celtics.
I like the fact that KG will soon be back healthy, and Tony Allen will be back a series or two before the ECFs, giving him time to warm up to guard LeBron (or, you know, get injured again). I'm hoping the league allows Brian Scalabrine to start playing games wearing football equipment and a hockey helmet.
I like the fact that it's Doc Rivers who is in charge of making this group come together and play as a team. I'm glad that Stephon Marbury has #5 present to act as his personal social worker and locker-room cop in case intervention is needed. I'm excited that Rajon Rondo continues to post eye-opening numbers, including 17 assists with two minutes to go in the third quarter against the Pacers. One day he'll end up with 20+ dimes for the evening.
I wish people would get of Kendrick Perkins' back. When the dude blocks five shots and leads the team in rebounding, he's doing his job.
I like Peggy Noonan's Saturday column in the Wall Street Journal entitled "Declarations." This is my Celtics' tribute to her.
