Wolves Rethinking Interest in Garnett

Kevin Garnett's Rookie Season
June 9, 1995

Wolves general manager Flip Saunders said the club might be re-thinking its interest in Chicago high school star Kevin Garnett. The Wolves were among 13 teams that viewed a private workout for Garnett during the pre-draft camp. Saunders said the club is considering bringing him to Minnesota next week for interviews. ``He showed he can do some things at 6-foot-11 that guys 6-4 and 6-5 can do,'' Saunders said of Garnett. ``He surprised a lot of people with his workout.''

The Wolves also hope to bring in Alabama sophomore forward Antonio McDyess, Oklahoma State center Bryant Reeves and perhaps North Carolina sophomore guard Jerry Stackhouse and Maryland sophomore forward Joe Smith before draft day.
