"With the team we've got, simplicity is a weapon for us," Pierce said. "We can just come down, put the ball in Rasheed's hands in the post, spread the court, kick it out to Ray, screen-and-roll from Rondo. You don't really need too many complicated things with this type of unit because you've got a lot of players who are unselfish with a variety of skills."
"Coming off that first pick-and-roll, most guys who guard me would then step in and help on Rasheed," he said. "But they're not, and it's just been us out there and we know (what to expect), and it's still open. So the first option is open every single time. We have no need to go to that second option. It makes it so much easier on everyone."

Throughout the illustrious coaching career of Red Auerbach, the Boston Celtics ran the same seven plays every year. If you've got the weapons, basketball can be a pretty simple sport.

Yep, Red always preached keeping it simple. With a veteran club where the players can think through the plays, it works much better than micromanaging. But with young clubs a lot of times you have to teach them every play. With every quote I get more and more excited about this season.
I found another great quote about the current locker room. Reminds me of the mid-80s. Good locker rooms are a pretty good sign, too.
