Lakers' Players Convene to Discuss Debacle

One day after committing 25 turnovers, drawing 26 fouls and missing 16 of 18 shots from beyond the 3-point arc, the Lakers held a team meeting. Players only. No coaches or staff members were involved. "They felt like they didn't give the right kind of effort," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said Saturday, less than 24hours after a 110-91 exhibition loss to the Golden State Warriors. "It wasn't a bad effort, but nothing went right for them.

Wild guess, but if they're already holding closed-door meetings after game 2 of the exhibition season, the pundits may need to rethink the MARCH TO 70 WINS they have forecast for the purple. Oh, by the way, the Lakers' 19-point loss took place in front of 17,000 Lakers' fans at the Fabulous Forum, the first home game played there in more than 10 years.

Of the 17,000 I wonder how many were Laker fans and how many were Kobe fans. Don't get the two confused.

True.

The other day I read where Pierce said he didn't go to UCLA or USC because LA fans aren't real fans.

Ouch!

Wow. Pretty harsh statement considering he grew up in LA.
