People don’t understand why guys keep coming back, why a lot of older players who played for the Celtics keep coming back. It’s the tradition. Being an opponent playing in Boston over the years, you always see guys in the stands who played for the Celtics. It’s a mystique. It’s cool.

The first post after my Spring hiatus was entitled Celtics' Cachet Being Tested Again. I bemoaned some of the player snubbings directed at the Celtics over the last couple of decades, and reminded everyone of Danny's promise to burnish the Celtics' brand and make it an attractive destination for NBA free agents. Were we just a one-summer wonder in 2007 or were the Patrick O'Bryant and Darius Miles signings the exception to the new rule?
I think we are starting to get our answer.
