Bill Walker was diagnosed with a torn right meniscus and is expected to be out 6-8 weeks. Walker was not expected to break into the rotation, but the Celtics hoped to give him concentrated practice time during the preseason.

If Bill Walker wasn't going to crack the rotation, then JR Giddens certainly won't either. That means we have Brian Scalabrine as the tenth man. One might ask, what about Shelden? With MD playing so much point, I think the larger hole is at the back-up 3, and Shelden doesn't play that position. So the remaining options are Scal, Baby (my personal choice for a Power 3), and TA (unless your going Triple Tower, in which case it would be Sheed or KG at the 3). Those three are different enough to give Doc flexibility.
