For at least one half, Rondo was the best point guard on the court last night. So he has it in him to elevate his game and play with the best. $55m is about $45m less than they would have paid next summer.
Im sooo glad they have come to a deal, i mean you saw his numbers in the playoffs, and he's still got so much room to grow, he's only going to get better! As long as he can maintain it game to game...
Lex, i think 5-6 year is the max lenght but i can be wrong... anyway is a good deal for both parts to me: Boston lock a key player that's perfect for the system, Rondo get now about the same money he could get as RFA, without all the mess...
I'm very happy that they got the extension done. It is one less distraction the team has to deal with. He isn't the type of player to get his contract and then take it easy. He has too big a chip on his shoulder. He wants to be a top PG, not just paid like one.

Honestly, i'm happy they sign him, but i'm not sure he could get more money next summer...
Maybe not more per year, but you don't think someone would have offered him an 8-10 year package?

Yeah, he needs more consistency. He seemed a little down last night after he was outplayed in the second half

Oh. I didn't know that. But I agree it's good to get it out of the way.

He's in the neighborhood with Paul. He just needs to keep his game in the stratosphere more consistently.
