Another Alley-Oop that Results in Garnett Limping

A quick perusal of the Web this morning is quite revealing for what we don't find. No one is talking about KG coming up lame once again after another failed alley-oop attempt. The limp was the most pronounced we've seen since this. Celtics Stuff Live opened their show talking about how the Celtics' defense has suffered from the deterioration in Garnett's defensive abilities. I'm going to go a step further.

If KG's knee doesn't significantly improve between now and May, KG may hang them up after this season and call it a career. I don't know Kevin Garnett personally. But I do know that he sets very high standards for himself, standards he's met or exceeded over the course of his career. It just can't be any fun playing basketball at the level he's playing now, having played in the stratosphere for most of his career.

agree.
or maybe if this year ends well, maybe he'll convert into a good bench player: i dont see him now acceptiong the reserve role...

I'm not a doctor. But I am confused. Why would he still be limping that badly? No bone spurs. In my lay opinion, there must be something going on with that tendon.

i hope it heals fully soon, but to play it safe i think they should give it another MRI just to check...

but heck what do i know???

Sad, but I doubt anyone knows much of anything, including KG's own doctors and trainers.

If you remember he also had shin splints when he first came back. Maybe it's not even the knee that is hurting or causing him to limp when he comes down on it like that. Maybe those shin splints are still acting up. Look at where his leg is wrapped. His leg is wrapped around his shins below the knee. If the knee was still bothering him that much I think we'd see some kins of brace on it. Just my thoughts.

And I agree he isn't 100% but I think it is more conditioning, timing and getting his mobility back from not working out all summer.

Yeah, perhaps, FCF. But because it was an alley oop that had him limping, and he first injured his knee on an alley oop, I am dubious.
