Lakers had Cushiest Start in NBA History

For jealous fans trying to find a way to belittle the Los Angeles Lakers' hot start this year, here's one potential argument: they've had quite possibly the easiest start to a season of any NBA team…ever.

The Lakers played 17 of their first 21 games at home, which is tied for the most ever along with the 1970-71 Portland Trail Blazers. During this span, the Lakers won 86% of their games. So far this season NBA teams have won 62% of their home games, and this year, the Lakers are 15-2 in the Staples Center. In fact, no team in the history of the NBA has ever played more than 17 of 21 games at home in any point of the season.
