I was talking with a guy the other day comparing Ray Allen to Joe Dumars and I told Ray was the better player. I thought about this and realized Dumars was very similar to Dennis Johnson. Who do you think was a better player between Dumars and DJ?
Joe Dumars was better than DJ. He was as good if not a better defender than DJ, and he was a far better scorer to boot. He was the only guy in league history who could impact Michael Jordan on defense. He had the same exact accomplishments as DJ and more except for one less ring.

Rondo is DJ on steroids, at least if he does what he's doing now for the rest of his career.
Anyway, no knock against joe, but DJ did everything.

Not a better defensive player than DJ overall for career, but his peak defense was as good if not better.
