Griffith doesn't have a choice. But if he did, the Louisville basketball star would
like to be drafted by the Celtics in Tuesday's NBA draft. "Based on all
the factors - being the Celtics have the No. 1 pick and they have already
established themselves as a winner - I would like to go to Boston,"
Griffith said yesterday after being met at Logan Airport by agent Bob Woolf.
"And
I'm not saying that to cut down the other teams. It's just that it's nice to go
to a team with a winning status. "But if I went to Utah or any other team,
I would be going with the same attitude - to win. That's what I want to achieve,
no matter where I go." Griffith said he has had no contact with the
Celtics and wasn't in Boston to do so. Instead, he said he and Woolf were going to Cape Cod for the weekend to
relax and discuss the draft. Utah, however, has contacted Griffith and indicated
the 6-foot-3 guard would be its choice if he's available when the Jazz pick
second in the first round.
