Now that the league's annual awards dinner has gone the way of the championship series and become last week's news, it's NBA rumor time once more. And there are plenty of rumors, some believable, some not so, swirling about. For starters, would you believe super shooter Paul Westphal of the Phoenix Suns and defensive demon Dennis (DJ) Johnson of the Seattle SuperSonics may soon be switching team logos?
The Suns, frustrated by stalled contract talks with the 29-year-old Westphal, have been offering the two-time All-Star around and are said to be close to a one-on-one deal for the talented but moody Johnson. Other reports have Westphal, a guard, headed toward New York for center Bill Cartwright and guard Ray Williams or back to the Celtics for the Nos. 1 and 13 draft picks in next week's college draft.
