I'm reluctant to start an 100 post series about the 71-72 lakers. But I must confess, that team intrigues me. One of the great teams of all time, but look here. Only 7 guys contributing. Very interesting.

Also interesting that Kareem put his foot down and ended the streak.

What happened in the playoffs that allowed the Ls to get past Milw without much problem?

We may be losing the Serbian Gangster :(

I really thought he could help us this season. Maybe his mom will have a quick recovery.

Were 7 players contributing on a regular basis that season? Or just for a short time?

I think 8 were contributing regularly

Bummer about Darko. I wonder who will fill the position?

Rumors are that some of the vets are pushing for KMart. Also rumors of Gortat wanting out of Phoenix and C's have been mentioned as a team with the chips to get him.

I guess we shall see.

That's interesting about LA. You always hear about wearing down the starters without at least a 9 or 10 man rotation. I guess back then they were men. Now they're all pampered.

True!

I wonder if darko was forced out?

From what they are saying, his mother is very ill in Europe and he wants to be with her. I don't see them forcing him out.

He's better than KMart in my opinion because of his size and his age. To get Gortat they'd have to trade someone so I don't see it.

ah trade someone, like one of their five backup shooting guards.
