Chocolate Thunder Ends Stint with Trotters

Chocolate Thunder Update: When last we looked in on Orlando's Darryl Dawkins, the 37-year-old center/cartoon character had just bolted the Continental Basketball Association and was about to sign a long-term, $6 million contract with the Harlem Globetrotters.

Well, Dawk did join the 'Trotters, but signed only a short-term deal to play with the barnstorming basketball clowns through their current South American tour that ends this week. Darryl's agent/counselor/sitter, Paul Brant, said the plan was to check for any possible NBA interest when Dawkins returns home next week before making a long-term decision on the Globetrotters. ''I haven't heard from him, and usually that's a good sign with Darryl. It means he's having fun and everything is OK,'' laughed Brant. Somehow it would seem right at home for the playful giant to be throwing buckets of confetti ''water'' on spectators and yanking down the shorts of the opposing center.

And what is it with all the spam comments we're getting lately? It's gotten really bad. Glad that Blogger catches most of them.
