The Celtics yesterday revealed part of their financing plan for Rick Pitino's $ 7 million salary, announcing an average 6.2 percent increase in ticket prices.
Owner Paul Gaston said at Pitino's
press conference that he'd be leaving the $ 10 tickets alone but would
look at the other fees charged to watch the C's. What that look yielded
was an increase scaled more toward the higher-end seats.
The
$ 125 front-row tickets went up 25 percent to $ 150, while the former $
70 and $ 60 seats underwent 10 percent hikes. Some of the $ 50 tickets
also went up 10 percent, while others stayed the same.
Season tickets go on sale today, with renewals to be mailed this week.
