KG Praises Doc

After last night's come from behind victory over Philadelphia, Garnett credited Doc for getting things turned around.

That's what I love about Doc. He's not afraid to get in your [tail]. He's not afraid to tell you that you're messing up. He's not afraid of challenging guys and letting us know that this is what needs to be done. And we respond. I love it. I love the fact that he's not nonchalant. He doesn't care who you are, what the facts are in this league. He respects everybody, but he knows when we are not playing to our capabilities and he came in and got us going a little bit. It was good.

“He challenged the point guards,” added House, who would make amends before the night was over. “He told us we were getting our (butts) kicked. But Rondo came back in and played well, and I just tried to help us build a lead.”

This would fall under the heading of Making In-Game Adjustments, something Doc's detractors are fond of saying he doesn't do well. It may also fall under the heading of charismatic leadership, as Doc seems to know which buttons to push to get the appropriate response. He didn't diagram any Xs and Os, just called out players, and let them figure out how to step up their games.

This might be a long season for the Doc Naysayers.
