A Tough Couple of Weeks for Doc Naysayers

The Doc Rivers Bandwagon I started here is growing.

First, celticsblog.com posted the results of a poll revealing that approximately 75% of those choosing to participate think Doc Rivers is the right coach for the Boston Celtics.

Then KG went public with more effusive praise for the Celtics coach, describing him as a near perfect blend of what it takes to be a great coach.

Earlier we saw

The Debunking of Simmons Senseless Doc Diatribe

Pat Riley declaring Rivers to be a "great coach."

The Herald revealing that the Celtics have won 13-straight third quarters, a testament to Doc's ability to make in-game adjustments.

Larry Bird noting that Xs and Os are overrated, and proving that great players make great coaches.

And for the coup de grĂ¢ce, WEEI revisited the following quotes from Ainge and Rivers.

``I am confident that Doc, given the right talent, can win in this league,'' Ainge said. ``There is no doubt in my mind. ``I have no doubt about it,'' Rivers agreed. ``I've always believed in that. Every time I've had a decent team, we've won.”

Oh, and then we have the matter of the Celtics 18-2 record, a pace that is now ahead of the vaunted 1985-86 team.

Come on, Doc Doubters, drink some kool-aid.
