I think all Cetlics fans and Globe readers have been frustrated with Peter May at one point or another.
Bad analyses and inaccuracies, and no shortage of either.
The other day I purchased one of his books on the Boston Celtics, not knowing what to expect.
The Last Banner is quite good, surprisingly enough. So good, in fact, that it leaves you wanting the author to tell you more about the 1985-86 team.
After reading a series of Peter May installments this year, I've come to the conclusion that Peter May is simply a better writer when the team he is writing about is good.
Here is his latest installment.
It's as if the guy we have been reading the last five years didn't exist.
