Two of the last three Celtics titles have come at the expense of the Houston Rockets.
Shall we make it three of four?
The Rockets have now won 20 games in a row. When the streak began, most observers were inclined to downplay it as simply the healthy players overachieving on behalf of the injured Yao Ming.
Now that the streak has reached historic proportions, one must ask whether Yao was actually getting in the way?
I'm not here to answer that question.
But as a die-hard Celtics fan, I have no compunction about changing horses in the Western Conference. While I'm still reserving hope that Shaq and the Suns can get it together, I'm now on the Rockets bandwagon as my frontrunner.
Keep in mind, I hate all teams not wearing green. But I hate the Lakers the most.
My second favorite team is always the team that can do the most damage to the purple, and right now it looks like Houston.
So with that in mind, let's hope the Rockets and the Cs meet in June for 2008 Banner 17 Party.
