"He's a Street Fighter"

Danny Ainge was recently explaining why he wanted to add a particular player to the 2007-08 Boston Celtics roster, and what that player brought to the team once he was added.

"He's a street fighter."

I don't remember which Celtic he was talking about, and the list of possibilities isn't short.

Leon Powe?

James Posey?

Eddie House?

Paul Pierce?

Some might scoff at the notion of Pierce as street fighter. But does anyone recall what Pierce kept saying to himself as he walked through the tunnel after the game 4 comeback?

"That's how you fight. That's how you fight."

Regardless of whom Danny was referencing, it really doesn't matter, because that's a lot of fight on one team.

Remember what Doc said to KG when the Big Fella left the floor after the Celtics had closed the Lakers 24-point lead to less than 5?

"Never quit fighting."

Danny Ainge was a street fighter, and I say he built this team in his image.

I agree that Danny was a fighter. He was the one Celtic everyone loved to hate in the 80's. I love the tough players that Danny has brought in. Each one of them has more heart than the entire Laker roster.
