Road Woes Explained (sort of )
I thought I had it all figured out. The reason the Celtics stunk on the road was their choice of road jersey.
The Boston Celtics donned the green-colored jerseys with the black numbering and black trim on the road against Atlanta and Cleveland and got skunked, 6-0. Against Detroit, the Celtics wore the green-colored jerseys with white numbering and white trim and took two games out of three on the road.
So it was all in the jersey. The green-colored jerseys with the black numbering and black trim were bad luck. Pure and simple.
A tad bit superstitious, Lex?
But, of course. After all, our team logos are a Leprechaun and a shamrock.
Superstitious, yes. But also wrong.
It turns out that the Celtics donned the green-colored jerseys with white numbering and white trim in game 4 against Atlanta and Game 6 against Cleveland.
I do find it interesting, however, that the Cs went exclusively with the green-colored jerseys with white numbering and white trim on the road against Detroit.
You know what I want them to wear in the Finals?
The throw-back jerseys.
Why?
That's what they wore when they destroyed the purple in December.
