Attributing a "League Source"

According to a league source, the Celtics would be especially interested in bringing in the veteran power forward, Antonio McDyess.

Interesting that Mark Murphy attributed this rumor to a league source.

Had Murphy attributed Danny Ainge or someone else on the Ainge payroll, the Celtics might have been vulnerable to tampering charges, since McDyess is still officially employed by the Denver Nuggets.

Instead he attributes a "league source."

Now other than stating the obvious, namely that any contender would want to chat with Dice, how exactly would a non-Celtic source know what's on Danny's mind?
