Rondo Makes Them Go

Rondo starting off the game, he pushed the ball the whole time, he put pressure on their defense and we got shots. He kept penetrating. This is a textbook game for him - it's how he should attack every game. Rondo set a great tempo for us and got some easy looks. They were trying to guess where it was coming from all half.

--Ray Allen, on why the Celtics Blew Out the Raptors, Despite Not Getting Big Games from Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett

Allen later said that the Celtics have a penchant for making it look tougher than it should, another way of saying (1) the Celtics play down to the level of the opponent; and (2) the Celtics start many games like they just awoke from a nap.

What I'm hearing Doc and an increasingly loud chorus say is that it's up to Rondo to get us going and get the engines fired from the opening tip.

I think that message has been communicated, and Rondo's on board with it.
