What is the Lakers Problem: Offense or Defense?

No matter what the Lakers are saying, this is at best a lull. At worst, it's a loose thread that, if pulled, might unravel the hopes and expectations for an entire season.

Since not allowing a team to score 100 points in the first seven games, the Lakers have allowed eight teams to eclipse 100 in their next 14. Over their first seven games, the Lakers held teams to an average of 86.7 points per game, while in their last 14, teams are scoring at a rate of better than 102.5 per game.

"I'm not going to just stick it on our defense," Jackson said. "I thought our offensive intensity went out. We're not running the court right, we're not spacing well. We run the Triangle more by accident than by design.
