Nash a Free Agent in 2010

Phoenix Suns guard Steve Nash was already among the players talking about how there hasn't been enough fun with the team this season. Between losing Mike D'Antoni as coach and Raja Bell leaving, could this affect his long-term future in Phoenix. Nash's contract expires after the 2009-10 season.

"I knew you were going to go there," Nash said. "I don't know. Like I said before about the 2010 speculation, it's so far away. I just want to try to win as many games as I can and then I'll worry about it after
."

Say a certain East Coast team is still playing in the stratosphere as the 2009-10 comes to an end. Say a certain point guard from Arizona wants to wear the same jersey once worn by Cousy and Maravich.

Ray Allen and Paul Pierce will also be free agents in 2010. Some might argue that resigning Pierce and Allen would consume too much cap space to pursue other free agents. Perhaps. But what if Pierce and Allen both sign one-year contracts at below market value for the sole purpose of giving Danny maximum flexibility?
