I believe we're still looking for someone to provide instant offense off the bench, and this kid seems to be able to do just that. In addition to a gaudy field-goal percentage and a more than respectable points-per game average, his individual game performances show the ability to score in bunches.

Points: 25, 15, 24, 34, 17, 19, 16

Rebounds: 8, 4, 9, 4, 9, 7, 12, 5

Assists: 2, 1, 2, 5, 1, 6, 1, 3

Steals: 2, 1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 4, 1

Blocks: 2, 2, 1, 2, 5, 2, 0, 2

And we know Doc and Danny have already bragged about his defense.

So I'm a bit confused why we're offering up this kid to anyone willing to part with a can of Coke and a bag of chips. Shouldn't we give him a chance to show us what he can do in the bigs before giving up on him? Of course, if he lands us a veteran wing who can consistently score and play D that's a whole different bag of potatoes. But that's not the current rumor.

The rumor says all Danny wants is a first rounder.

Hopefully this is just a bad rumor.

Hope its a bad rumor too. I'm very curious to see what our rookies can do for us. I think the team should be fine without a draft pick next year. There's already a logjam in the rotation as is. Hopefully between Gabe and Eddie, Sam shouldn't be needed and we can use his spot to sign someone later.

I trust Doc for the most part. But if the rumor is true, it sounds like Doc made a judgment that Gabe is better than JR.

That would seem like a rash decision.

At some point after 12/25, the roster should shake itself out a bit. You don't want to mess with success.

But we still need an upgrade off the bench.
