The doctor knew how hurt they were.
"What kind of different injuries were there?" a reporter asked.
"Well, you can start with Dennis Johnson's tooth," the doctor said. "He had a molar that was acting up all day. I gave him some stuff that calmed it down pretty well during the day, but when he got here, with the crowd and everything, it started acting up again.
"I offered to deaden the area for him, but he asked how big the needle would be. I had to tell him. He respectfully declined."
