1. Are the Celtics a better team than last year? If so, why? If not, why?
The Celtics' starters are better this year. With one year of playing together under their belts, the first unit is playing as well as any group of starters since the 1980s Celtics. Most noticeably, the Green is much better at making use of Ray Allen. Though Ray Allen is healthier this year, the Celtics have figured out how to get him open, and he's responded with career bests from 2 and from 3. Paul Pierce and KG decide on a game-by-game basis what is needed to win, and then bring exactly that to the table. Rondo is playing much more consistently. Instead of playing like an All-Star 1 out of 5 games, he's playing like an All-Star 4 out of 5 games. Kendrick Perkins, notwithstanding the technicals and flagrants, is playing more intelligently, too.
