Not to mention the most important thing.... Two huge rebounds and a block by Perk. Without that, it is a loss.

There have been a number of complaints about Perk lately.

I just don't get it. He's been more than doing his job, and that 15- to 18-footer he's developed is a thing of beauty!

There will always be complaints about a player who puts defense first and who fills the role of being the defensive stopper and enforcer. He will always get too many fouls and he will never get a ton of points. His points will always come off putbacks and garbage points. They won't run plays for him. But, on the defensive end, he is a key to any win this team gets. He is filling his role perfectly. Perk was huge last night and like I said without the block and rebounds at the end, we don't win.

Also, watch how many rebounds his teammates get because he is boxing out. Watch how many points his teammates get because he is setting screens. Neither of those things show up in the box score but they are very important to team success.

Perk tips a lot of rebounds to his own teammates who get credit for the board. Also, he usually score a basket per game off of back-ins (where he powers his man backward via a couple of dribbles) and then throws in a little baby hook. He also usually good for at least one mid-range set shot.

The national announcers are starting to get it. The other day I think it was Hubie Brown said Perk is one of his favorite players.
