The Magic-Johnson-Paul-Pierce Interview

Yesterday ABC aired Paul Pierce's interview with Magic Johnson. In it Pierce recounted the oft-told story of how he once was a Laker-lover and a Celtic-hater. Then he told Magic that "it was just great to win an NBA championship for any team."

Oh, come on, Paul.

It's cool to be courteous to Magic and all. I get that. But let's speak the truth here. That's your name, right? The Truth?

It may be great to win an NBA championship for any team, but it's particularly sweet to win one for the Boston Celtics, and even sweeter to win it against the Celtics' arch nemesis, the Los Angeles Lakers.

It's great to wear the green, and have the entire family of Celtic greats pay tribute to the 2007-08 champions. From Jo Jo White and John Havlicek to Sam Jones and Bob Cousy, and from Bill Russell to Larry Bird, they all weighed in. They all paid homage. They all celebrated. No less important, they all said "thanks."

Cuz any time one Celtic wins a championship, all of Celtic Nation wins a championship.

We know you know this, Captain. Mr. Celtics, Boorah and all.

Just tell the Truth.
